課程概述 |
The goal of this course is to prepare LIS undergraduate students to work creatively and productively with ICT in digital environment. Students will also be introduced to the emerging technologies that are expanding and evolving the library and information services. |
課程目標 |
At the conclusion of this class, the students will be able to
• Address and identify the basic technologies and key issues associated with Web-based, end-user computing, particularly when they are applied to library and information services.
• Describe and assess key systems and technical standards for digital objects.
• Identify standards and technologies on which the production and distribution of digital documents, including e-books, are based.
• Explain the design and functionality of library and archival systems and how design and functionality influence the delivery and quality of information services.
• Summarize the issues arising from the presentation of various types of materials in digital formats, particularly the issues pertaining to design, usability, maintenance, and preservation.
Produce Web-based artifacts using technologies underlying library and archival systems. These technologies include bibliographic information management systems, Web servers, content management systems, markup languages, and style sheets. |
